Gente Oil Ecuador Reduces Associated Gas Flaring by 19% Thanks to Cleaner Technologies

As part of its sustainability and operational efficiency strategy, Gente Oil Ecuador has managed to reduce associated gas flaring at the Singue Field by 19%, thanks to the implementation of advanced power generation technologies, such as microturbines and dual-fuel (gas + diesel) generators.

This technical and environmental improvement represents a reduction of 7.98 metric tons ofCO₂ equivalent per day, which directly contributes to the country’s climate commitments and to responsible operations in the hydrocarbon sector.

The gas used—which has an ultra-low calorific value—has traditionally been considered difficult to utilize. However, Gente Oil Ecuador has turned it into an alternative energy source to diesel, achieving greater efficiency and reduced emissions in its operations.

We are moving toward a cleaner, more efficient model that is aligned with national environmental standards, solidifying Gente Oil Ecuador’s position as an operator committed to the country’s present and future.
