Playful education for new generations
Gente Oil Ecuador brings the technical knowledge of oil to the classrooms of Sansahuari through a unique and playful educational experience. With characters like Sansa and Singue, the children learned through play that oil is not only a natural resource: it is in their notebooks, pencils, backpacks, clothes and transportation.
Through simple experiments, they understood how it is formed underground, how it is extracted and why its use is so connected to everyday life. This initiative seeks to raise awareness from childhood about the importance of this resource, strengthen the link with the community and reaffirm Gente Oil Ecuador's commitment to education, local identity and a sustainable future.
Technology at the service of knowledge
More than 400 students from the Sansahuari community benefit from a technological tool with access to a digital library with more than 25,000 titles, thanks to a partnership between Gente Oil Ecuador and the Swiss NGO GetAbstract.
For the first time, young people connect with knowledge through readings, summaries and audiobooks from their cell phones.
Teachers join in with training and support, integrating the platform into the educational process, with training, curiosity and motivation. It is an intervention at the base of learning.
Gente Oil Ecuador promotes the reading habit as an engine of social transformation within the communities.
Ecological awareness from childhood
Gente Oil Ecuador promotes initiatives such as environmental fairs and activities, with the participation of the community and local authorities. The events are carried out in partnership with the Unión y Progreso de Sansahuari Educational Unit, with the objective of socializing the ecological policies of Block 53, strengthening responsible management and promoting a culture of learning among students.
Topics include animal rescue, waste management, energy optimization, ecosystem care and plastic reduction, among others. This dynamism seeks to integrate environmental education with active participation, promoting good practices and generating positive impact at the local level.
Music that unites and transforms
At the local educational unit, we support the formation of a Peace Band by providing instruments and bringing together young people around music, respect and discipline. This artistic space promotes peaceful coexistence, teamwork and the strengthening of community identity. It also fosters self-esteem and positive expression, removing adolescents from risky environments.
Education for the prevention of gender violence
In partnership with the Unión y Progreso Educational Unit and the Sansahuari Women's Association, Gente Oil Ecuador promotes educational projects focused on preventing gender violence in the province of Sucumbíos. Through participatory workshops we teach students between 12 and 17 years of age how to recognize warning situations, express and act responsibly, and promote the identification of inappropriate behavior, the development of preventive capacities, and the training and empowerment of young people as multiplier agents in their communities. This initiative has directly reached more than 100 students, generating a positive impact on close to 600 people, and reinforcing our commitment to education, equity and social well-being.
