4th Power & Renewable Energies Summit 2026

At the 4th Power & Renewable Energies Summit 2026 organized by Seminarium, Silvana Pástor, Vice President of Gente Oil Ecuador, participated in the business roundtable discussion “Energy, Investment, and Transition: The Ecuador of the Future.”
She emphasized the importance of understanding that hydrocarbons currently constitute the main source of funding for the energy transition, which is why both processes must move forward in a complementary manner. “The problem isn’t oil, but the way it’s extracted,” she noted, also highlighting that Ecuador has the third-largest oil reserves in the region.

He also emphasized that attracting foreign investment requires clear and stable legal regulations, accompanied by a technical and long-term vision that allows the country to maintain its competitiveness and build confidence for the development of strategic projects. He added that energy companies are currently focusing their operations on sustainability, social responsibility, and environmental commitment, in line with the sector’s new global requirements.

Finally, I called for the establishment of technical leadership for the country, in which processes are led by professionals with experience and knowledge of the sector, reducing bureaucracy and strengthening institutional support for public officials and the private sector to drive Ecuador’s development.
